Icon of the Queen of All brought from Mount Athos. Icon of the Mother of God “Vsetsaritsa” (“Pantanassa”). Miraculous lists of the icon of the Mother of God

On August 31, the Orthodox Church honors the memory of the icon of the Mother of God “The Tsarina of All,” through which miraculous help and healing were revealed to many suffering from cancer.

The miraculous image of the Mother of God “All-Tsarina” (Greek “Pantanassa”) is kept in the Vatopedi Monastery of Athos, to the left of the royal doors in the cathedral church.

According to Tradition, the icon was painted in the 17th century and became a blessing from the famous Elder Joseph the Hesychast on the Holy Mountain to his disciples.

The image depicts the Mother of God in a scarlet robe, seated on the royal throne. In Her hands is the Infant God with a scroll in his left hand and with a blessing right hand. With her right hand, the Mother of God points to the Son as the Savior of all people. In the background are two angels who reverently overshadow the Most Pure Virgin with their wings.

In Moscow, you can venerate the image of the Most Holy Theotokos “Vsetsaritsa” in the Alekseevsky Monastery (Church of All Saints), in the Novospassky Monastery and in the Church of the Holy Martyr Tatiana at Moscow State University.

Many miraculous incidents are associated with this image. In Russia, he is known as an icon in front of which cancer patients pray. The first healings began to occur at the Children's Oncology Center in Kashirka. The miraculous image, through which miraculous help was revealed to many suffering, is now in the Church of All Saints in Krasnoe Selo (now Alekseevsky Monastery). But the image of the “All-Tsarina” is regularly brought back to the Oncology Center for prayer services.

The icon of the Mother of God “The Queen of All”, in front of which those who have been scorched by the ominous flame of a special disease gather together for prayer. That disease against which both a surgical knife and chemotherapy are sometimes powerless. There is a special mark on their faces that brings treatment with it. This is a special pallor that cannot be confused with anything, and sparse brittle hair, and a look that is tired and directed beyond those horizons that ordinary people are afraid to look beyond.

Icon of the Mother of God “Vse Tsaritsa”

Cancer patients and relatives of patients come to the Mother of God, whose image is called “The Queen of All” or, in Greek, “Pantanassa”.

Queen of all! This is how the hymnographer addresses her in the first canon of Theotokos.

“Horrified with fear, O All-Tsarina, the angelic rank of rank, praising You: for the sake of goodness, every mind sings, like the Mother of the Creator: for you have exceeded all praise, having given birth to Christ.”

The Mother of God, personifying the Church, sits on a throne - a symbol of the universe, the world, the inhabited earth, the ecumene. The four ends of the world, four, four main constellations - this is how the ancients perceived the world as “four-pointed”. An echo of this is preserved in the amazing Canon of the Holy Cross, which is part of the daily monastic rule.

“We imagine this four-pointed world, and like a triangular sword, cutting off the beginnings of darkness, the Cross, the great weapon of Christ, and the invincible omnipotent victory.”

“The all-honorable cross, the four-pointed power, the splendor of the apostles and the strength of the martyrs, you showed health to the weak, the resurrection of the dead, the exaltation of the fallen.”. (Canon of the Honorable Cross)

The Cross of her Son. He is here, the Youth, with his facial features repeating the Mother’s. He is the Son of Mary.

“And the height appears as a bright cloud,
Whom You, Most Pure One, hid under your heart
And whose features reminded You from the cross"

(Vladimir Mikushevich)

In the radiance of the golden tunic, His hand is visible - made of flesh and blood. The Son became a Man, partaking of human flesh and blood - in order to “accept suffering more comfortably.” He partook of our nature - in His death, so that we could partake of His Body and Blood - in true life.

Yes! Release the tormented,
The youth whose name is most beautiful of all.
climb the mountains with inaccessible steeps,
in old age giving Sarah laughter.

The dove's wings are spread out to the sides -
the summer of the Lord, and the ear, and the song!
Yes! Through the desert, on a pathless road -
calls are heard, and a voice, and a message.

The rain is on the fleece, and His covenant is like a rainbow,
sing Him, hear and see Him all day long!
Yes! He leads, He takes your hand -
pressing your fingers into the nail marks.

He Himself is more wonderful than visions and signs,
in old age giving laughter to Sarah,
revealed God and revealed God,
The Youth, whose Name is most beautiful of all.

His desire was accomplished and fulfilled. He endured the cross and “abolished” death - He emptied it, released all those who were languishing from its insatiable womb, and gave them to taste the Bread of Life.

“For You are the Bread of Life, the Source of sanctification, the Giver of good things, and to You we ascribe glory with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and always, and unto the ages of ages. Amen"(Prayer of thanksgiving to St. Basil the Great after Holy Communion)

And there is no longer heaven or earth - the angels symbolize overcoming this barrier, touching with their wings both heaven and earth behind the Throne of the Son in the Mother’s arms.

The Church preserves the “medicine of immortality” (schm. Ignatius the God-Bearer) - the healing Flesh of Christ and Blood from His most pure side, the Youth, who suffered for the healing of all, the Youth, whose wounds, like springs, springs of sweet water, flowed healing to the tormented.

And the secret of the Church is in the name of the Mother of God - the All-Tsarina: Christ reigns!

“Thou reignest over all creation, having been a man, he dwelt in Thy, God-gracious womb, and having endured crucifixion and death, he rose again magnificently, making us like omnipotent.”(Canon of Easter)

Christ reigns! - this is how the Christians of the Ancient Church exclaimed, sentenced to death in the arenas of Roman circuses from the swords of gladiators and the teeth of animals.

Christ reigns! – and His Church testifies to this.

The light of the Resurrection hits the low, above-ground windows of our dilapidated houses, hits, breaking through with sheaves of rays of miracle and hope where there is no longer any strength to hope for a miracle.

« Whom you gave birth to Christ, who rose beautifully from the dead, Pure in sight, kind and immaculate in women and red, today for the salvation of all, with the apostles rejoicing, Glorify Him" (Canon of Easter)

The light of the Risen Christ, distributing Himself to everyone - “simple and without reproaches”(James 1:5) in the Sacrament of Body and Blood is the light of the Church reigning in the world.

Neither marble nor granite
don't bury the dead -
He struck death on the cheek,
He saw death in the face.

Will not be covered with earth
Your holy brand,
Who struck death on the cheek,
Pierced in the rib by death.

Now there is no separation
Can't close the ring forever -
He let me touch your hands
Seeing death in the face.

History of the icon

The image of the Mother of God “The Queen of All” was painted by an unknown monk in the 17th century. The icon was in one of the monasteries of Greece. One day during the service, a young man approached the image and began to quietly utter unintelligible strange words. Suddenly the young man fell, thrown away from the icon of the Mother of God by an unknown force. When he woke up, he cried and admitted that he had been practicing witchcraft, and came to church to test his strength on holy images. The young man went to confession and completely changed his life, turning to God and repenting of his sins.

Icon of the Mother of God, called “ALL QUEEN” (“Pantanassa”)

Before the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos “Vsetsaritsa” (“Pantanassa”) they pray for healing from cancer and for deliverance from magical spells. The celebration takes place on August 18/31.

The miraculous icon of the Mother of God, called the “Vsetsaritsa” (in Greek - “Pantanassa”), is located on Holy Mount Athos in Greece. She abides in the Vatopedi monastery , in the cathedral church of the monastery, to the left of the royal gates. This icon is small in size. The time of its writing dates back to the 17th century.

Icon of the All-Tsaritsa and Belt of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Vatopedi Monastery on Mount Athos

The icon depicts the Most Pure Virgin in a scarlet robe, seated on the royal throne. In Her arms is the Child of God with a scroll in his left hand and blessing with his right hand. With her right hand, the Mother of God points to Her Royal Son as the Savior of all people. In the background are two angels who reverently overshadow the Most Pure Virgin with their wings.

This icon belongs to the Panahranta iconographic type, which translated from Greek means “Most Immaculate”, “Most Pure”. The All-Merciful is the second name for icons of the Mother of God of this type. A common feature of such icons is that the Mother of God is depicted seated on a throne with the Child Christ on her lap. The throne symbolizes the royal grandeur and glory of the Mother of God, the most perfect of all those born on earth.

In the 20th century, the famous Athonite elder Joseph the Hesychast blessed his disciples with the image of “Pantanassa”. He conveyed to his contemporaries the ancient legend about this icon.

One day a strange man approached the icon and began muttering something inaudibly. At that moment, the face of the Mother of God shone with a wondrous light, and an invisible force threw the young man to the floor. In fear, he ran out of the temple and with tears confessed to the elders that he had led a sinful life and was engaged in witchcraft and magic. Thus, the Most Holy Theotokos revealed a miracle from Her image, turned the young man away from wickedness and set him on the path of repentance. The miraculous intervention of the Mother of God convinced him to change his life and stay on Mount Athos.

This was the first manifestation of the miraculous power of the icon of the Mother of God “The All-Tsarina”; later they began to notice that the icon had a beneficial effect on patients with various tumors, including malignant ones, as they are called in the modern world. Not many people know that the disease cancer has an ancient history. The name “cancer” comes from the term “carcinoma” introduced by Hippocrates, derived from two Greek words: “crab” and “tumor”. Hippocrates called the tumor carcinoma because it looks like a crab. The disease was first described in an Egyptian papyrus around 1600 BC. e.. The papyrus talks about several forms of cancer and reports that there is no cure for this disease. Already in the 1st century BC. The Roman physician Aulus Cornelius Celsus proposed treating cancer at an early stage by removing the tumor, and at a later stage not treating it at all.

It cannot be said that over the past 2000 years, doctors have made any particular progress in the fight against this disease, which affects an increasing number of people every year. Now, as before, this disease is considered incurable, and all cancer patients hope only for a miracle. It must be admitted that cases of miraculous healing do occur, many of them, perhaps all, are associated with fervent prayerful appeal to the Savior and the Mother of God. Therefore, when in the 17th century the miraculous power of the icon of the Mother of God “The All-Tsarina” in curing cancer was discovered, exact lists began to be made from the icon for other monasteries. Gradually, the icon became known throughout the world as a healer of cancer, and to this day the image of the Mother of God “The All-Tsarina” has the grace to heal the most terrible of diseases of modern humanity. The very name of the icon All-Mistress, Everything is the mistress- speaks of its special, all-encompassing power. This image of the Mother of God has the most powerful healing principle.

In 1995, Russians also had the opportunity to bow before the miraculous image in order to directly before the face of the Mother of God turn to the All-Tsarina with a request for deliverance from many incurable diseases, and first of all, from cancer, which is called the plague of the 20th century, and which does not spare small children , neither young men nor old men.

At the request of the Community of Mercy of the Holy Righteous John of Kronstadt at the children's oncology center on Kashirskoye Highway, the abbot of the Vatopedi Monastery, Archimandrite Ephraim, blessed to make a copy of the Athonite miraculous icon of the Mother of God “The All-Tsarina”. An exact copy of the icon, painted in compliance with the canon, prayers and solemn services, appeared to the unfortunate children.

And miracles began. The condition of the children improved significantly, which could not be explained solely by the use of medications. A few months later, on the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the icon of the Mother of God “The Tsarina of All” began to stream myrrh, several large drops of myrrh appeared on it, and an amazing fragrance filled everything around. On the Feast of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple, the flow of myrrh was repeated once again. The first miracle revealed by the All-Tsarina in Russia is called the healing of a young man who had suffered from drug addiction for many years. Since then, parents have turned to the Mother of God in front of the “Vsetsaritsa” icon to pray for their children who are addicted to drugs and alcohol.

Needless to say, the news about the amazing icon spread throughout Moscow with lightning speed. The miraculous image was transferred to Church of All Saints the former Novo-Alekseevsky Monastery, which is located in Krasnoselsky Lane, near the Krasnoselskaya metro station , the image of the “All-Tsarina” is regularly brought back to the oncology center for prayer services.

To the left of the Royal Doors is the Icon of the Mother of God “The Tsaritsa”

After some time, a Church Slavonic version of the akathist to the Mother of God in honor of Her icon “The Tsaritsa” was created, different from the Greek. Every Sunday at All Saints Church at 16.30 (and if a great holiday falls on Monday - at 15.00) prayer services are performed with the reading of an akathist to the Mother of God and the consecration of oil for anointing all those who suffer, and not only from cancer. The chronicle of healing is constantly updated with more and more new evidence of miraculous help for those who no longer expected to receive it from earthly doctors. There are stories here about old people and babies, on behalf of women and men, about healing in the late stages of cancer and about removing suspicion of it, about recovery from fatal diseases and from those that bring a lot of suffering, but are not fatal and about much, much more. Grateful people not only leave their stories in the book, but also bring all kinds of gifts to the shrine.

For example, in 2002, one person suffered a hypertensive crisis. After discharge, on the advice of his relatives, he went for a brain tomography. The examination showed that after frequent pressure surges, a tumor had formed in the brain. There was only one solution - surgery. Before undergoing surgery, this man went to the monastery for a blessing, and there his wife ordered a prayer service for the “All-Tsarina” icon with the blessing of water. While in the hospital, he constantly prayed to the All-Tsarina for recovery and constantly drank holy water, which he took after the prayer service. The hospital did another follow-up examination, which confirmed healing from a serious illness.

Today this list, which is located in the Church of All Saints in Krasnoye Selo, is no longer the only one in Russia. In 1997, another miraculous copy of the icon of the Mother of God “Vsetsaritsa” appeared in Moscow, which is located in Novospassky Monastery (Moscow, Krestyanskaya sq., 10, metro station "Proletarskaya"). This list was specially prepared at the Vatopedi Monastery and brought to Russia. He is revered as miraculous and myrrh-streaming. Here, too, a book is kept in which all miracles occurring from the shrine are recorded.Prayer services are performed in front of it every day, and on Sundays prayer services are served with the blessing of water.

Icon of the Mother of God
called “Vsetsaritsa” (“Pantanassa”)

Before the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos “Vsetsaritsa” (“Pantanassa”) they pray for healing from cancer and for deliverance from magical spells. The celebration takes place on August 18/31.

The miraculous icon of the Mother of God, called the “Vsetsaritsa” (in Greek – “Pantanassa”), is located on Holy Mount Athos in Greece. She resides in the Vatopedi Monastery, in the cathedral church of the monastery, to the left of the royal doors. This icon is small in size. The time of its writing dates back to the 17th century.

Icon of the Mother of God All-Tsaritsa or Pantanassa. Athos. Vatoped

The very name of the icon, All-Mistress, All-Mistress, speaks of its special, all-encompassing power.

The miraculous image was transferred to the Church of All Saints of the former Novo-Alekseevsky Monastery, which is located in Krasnoselsky Lane, not far from the Krasnoselskaya metro station; the image of the “All-Tsarina” is regularly brought back to the oncology center for prayer services.

To the left of the Royal Doors is the Icon of the Mother of God “The Tsaritsa”

After some time, a Church Slavonic version of the akathist to the Mother of God in honor of Her icon “The Tsaritsa” was created, different from the Greek. Every Sunday in the Church of All Saints at 16.30 (and if a great holiday falls on Monday, at 15.00) prayers are held with the reading of an akathist to the Mother of God and the blessing of oil for anointing all those who suffer, and not only from cancer.

The Vatopedi Monastery is a treasury of Orthodox shrines, among which the most famous are the Belt of the Most Holy Theotokos and Her icon, called “The All-Tsarina” (“Pantanassa”), to which believers resort in special cases: in case of fatal diseases, especially cancer, the conversion of lost loved ones. There are many lists of this icon all over the world. Its very name “The Tsaritsa” tells us about the greatness of the image.

The icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary was painted in the 17th century. Her iconographic type belongs to the “Panahranta” type, that is, “All-Merciful”. In the icon, the Mother of God is depicted sitting on a throne, in her hands she holds the Infant Jesus, who blesses those praying with His right hand. Around them are archangels in snow-white robes. The icon is located in the left icon case of the Vatopedi Monastery Cathedral.

In this way, the greatest Athonite ascetic, Elder Joseph the Hesychast, blessed his brethren. It is interesting that there is no mention of this icon among the old catalogs devoted to the description of icons. And “Pantanassa” came to Vatopedi thanks to a certain hermit who greatly revered this image.

The Icon of the Mother of God “The Tsaritsa” became famous for many miracles. An ancient legend, recorded and kept in the Vatopedi monastery, tells of the admonition and conversion of one young man who was engaged in sorcery. What happened to this young man is very similar to what happened to the Venerable Mary of Egypt. Just as the Lord, by an unknown force, did not allow the harlot into His temple at that time, so the Mother of God struck the young sorcerer with a bright flash of light, not allowing him to approach Her holy icon. Shocked by this phenomenon, the young man rushed to the Athonite elders and repented of his sin. After this, he was able to venerate the image, forever correcting his life.

Believers received many healings after praying at the miraculous icon of the Most Holy Theotokos. The inhabitants of the monastery began to notice that the Lord had granted the gracious power to this image to heal cancer, but those suffering from this terrible illness only hope for a miracle, and by the grace of God they receive it. And as a sign of gratitude, those healed bring their small gifts to the Queen of Heaven: crosses, gold and silver jewelry. The entire icon is hung with several rows of jewelry, testifying that the Mother of God hears everyone who sincerely resorts to Her.
