All books are about: “boba fett is a new threat. A Legendary Mercenary from a Galaxy Far, Far Away Birth and Childhood

Remembering the name Fett, fans of "Star Wars" immediately correlate it with the character of Boba Fett. Then who is Jango Fett and why is he not as popular as Boba? We answer these and other questions in our special material about the heroes of the Star Wars universe.

general information

Jango Fett's character in Star Wars is considered the most desperate and dangerous mercenary. Amazing physical skills, cold prudence and quick wits give him a significant advantage over any opponent. Fett's face and body are always hidden behind sleek armored gear, complete with hidden folding blades, multiple pistols, snares, and other weapons.

Another main distinguishing feature of Jango Fett's image is a special jetpack with rocket salvos.

Character biography

Django's childhood was spent on the planet Concord Dawn: he, along with his parents and other families, was among the first colonists. After killing his loved ones, Fett joined the Mandalorian warriors, where he began his training under the supervision of Justin Merrill. Having achieved the desired results, Django left the opposition group and turned into bounty hunters.

Soon, the entire underworld knew Fett's name as a first-class mercenary with a brilliant reputation. He began to receive offers from many influential bosses. However, Fett was guided by Mandalorian honor and did not want to fight for the sake of stingy and greedy employers.

A few years later, a meeting between Django and Count Dooku took place, during which Fett received a rather interesting offer - to play the role of a donor for a whole army of clones.

The fact is that the mercenary had already faced the Jedi and defeated them, so his candidacy for donation was considered the most suitable. In addition, Django took part in several attempts on the life of Senator Amidala. After another failure, Fett eliminated Zam Vesel, using a poisoned dart for this purpose. It was from this dart that the clone factory was calculated. Fett had to engage in a tough but brief duel with Obi-Wan, after which he took refuge in Geonosis.

Doom

In his final fight, Jango Fett faced off against Mace Windu on Geonosis. Before that, the mercenary managed to deal with several Jedi at once, but Master Windu was much more experienced and stronger than his opponent. With his, he chopped off Fett's hand, and then the head.

After Jango's death, his ship and armor passed to Boba Fett, who swore an oath to take revenge on the Jedi.

The connection between Jango Fett and Boba Fett

The character of Boba Fett was first introduced to the audience by the classic trilogy. Despite the fact that many have mistaken him for the son of Django, in fact, this is not the case. Boba Fett is an unmodified clone of Django, which is his exact genetic copy. When the mercenary agreed to donate to Dooku, he demanded not only money, but also his own clone. Django raised him as his own son, teaching young Bob all his skills, knowledge and hatred.

The appearance of the character in the Star Wars films and other projects

Jango Fett first appeared on screens in Attack of the Clones, the second film in the prequel trilogy. This was his first and last appearance in the entire film franchise. Viewers are introduced to the character through Obi-Wan when he arrives on Kamino, investigating the attack on Padmé. A little later in the story, Jango Fett appears on Geonosis, where, during the last battle, he loses first his arm, and then his head. Throughout the film, viewers could see Fett's real face.

In addition, Jango Fett became the protagonist of Star Wars: The Bounty Hunter. The plot of the game affects the time period before the events of Attack of the Clones.

The image of Jango Fett continues to appear in side projects to this day. These are mainly games created based on the Star Wars cinematic universe, but there are also other projects. So, for example, the popular game The Witcher 3 delighted players with a large number of various references to popular characters. Django Fett and "The Witcher" are connected by a funny Easter egg on Skellige Island: not far from the village of Balandare, Geralt meets a mercenary from whom you can get a task. The mercenary introduces himself as Jango Frett, which is a direct reference to the bounty hunter from Star Wars. The fact that Frett considers himself the best of the best also hints at the image of Django.

A minor character in the Star Wars universe, a bounty hunter from the planet Kamino, a human, a clone. Boba Fett is on the side of the Galactic Empire, collaborating with. He captured the smuggler and froze him in carbonite.

History of creation

Boba Fett's concept was born from the early work of Darth Vader. The creators of the Star Wars movie saga originally envisioned Darth Vader as a space mercenary and bounty hunter. However, this image was transformed along the way and took the form of some kind of galactic fallen knight. The "criminal element" did not come out of Vader, but the ideas and sketches of that time, created by the artist Ralph McQuarrie, formed the basis for the image of Boba Fett.

The character first appears on TV screens in The Star Wars Holiday Special, in an animated cut that lasts only 11 minutes. This insert tells how Luke Skywalker went in search of Han Solo. Luke's fighter crashes into a celestial body, and Boba Fett comes to the rescue of the hero. The two characters search for Han Solo's ship, but then it is revealed that Boba Fett is a supporter of Darth Vader. A clash occurs between the characters, after which Boba disappears.

After appearing in The Star Wars Holiday Special, the minor character Boba Fett unexpectedly became a favorite of the public, which began to eagerly await the appearance of Boba in the movie The Empire Strikes Back. The role of Boba was played by British actor Jeremy Bullock, who was replaced in one of the scenes by John Morton. The same Jeremy Bullock plays the role of Boba in Return of the Jedi.

When developing the image, Boba paid special attention to the armor, which they continued to refine to perfection already in the process of filming. Many fans attribute the popularity of Boba to its bright and memorable appearance. At the same time, the hero has no more than four phrases for the entire original Star Wars trilogy.

Shot from the movie "Star Wars"

In the 2002 movie Attack of the Clones, Boba's role expands. Viewers see the hero as a child played by a young actor from New Zealand, Daniel Logan. Boba's past becomes known. Mandalorian mercenary Jango Fett brings up as the son of his own clone, giving him the name "Bob". Later, Boba's father is killed by a Jedi, and the hero vows to avenge his death. Boba's father was also played by a New Zealand actor, and the creators of the film gave the Mandalorians the features of the Maori - the indigenous people of New Zealand.

Boba appears again in the 2004 New Hope special. There, the character appears on the landing site, where Han Solo talks to. In the original version of the film, released in 1997, this scene was cut, Boba Fett was basically absent from it, and Jabba the Hutt looked completely different.

Boba Fett also appears in the Star Wars books. There are even novels where Boba became the main character - "Boba Fett: Fight to Survive" and "Crossfire" by Terry Bisson. It reveals the hero's past, childhood and Boba's life after the murder of his father. Bob's boy is lonely, devoid of friends and inspired by the thirst for revenge and the desire to become a bounty hunter. On the planet Raxus Prime, the orphaned hero meets the Count, the leader of the Separatists. Boba gets caught up in the Clone Wars.

There is also the Boba Fett: Enemy of the Empire comic series. And in the Star Wars comic series there is an arc "Bloodlines: Boba Fett is Dead", where a group of mercenaries cracks down on Boba, but a mysterious stranger immediately takes revenge.

"Star Wars"

Boba Fett is a clone of the bounty hunter Jango Fett from the planet Kamino, who was raised and trained as a son and heir. As a child, Boba did not go to school, as he traveled with his father. With Count Dooku, Lord of the Sith, young Boba met thanks to the fact that Jango Fett performed some missions on behalf of Dooku.

During his next trip, Jango Fett used his own son as bait, wanting to lure into the open space the person he was going to kill. Boba was not at all offended by this "trick" of his father and continued to remain loyal to Fett Sr.

When Boba was ten years old, he and his father had to flee the planet Kamino because of a Jedi who came to investigate the assassination attempt on the Senator and discovered a huge clone army created for the Republic. It was safer for the Fetts to get off the planet until the official investigation was over.

Boba and his father fly to the planet Geonosis, but Obi-Wan tracks down the heroes. The Fetts attempted to throw Obi-Wan off his tail in the asteroid belt, but the maneuver failed, and the Jedi followed them unnoticed. On Geonosis, there is a clash between the Jedi, who came to save "their", and the fighters of the Republic. Jedi Mace Windu blew the head of Boba's father right in front of the hidden boy. After the battle was over, the hero came out of hiding to pick up his father's helmet, and vowed to take revenge on the Jedi.

Later, young Boba Fett becomes disillusioned with Count Dooku and flies to Tatooine, where he offers his own services as a bounty hunter to Jabba the Hutt. The hero does not forget about his intention to take revenge on his father's killer and for this he arranges the wreck of an entire space cruiser. Ultimately, the hero goes to jail for the attempted murder, but never kills the Jedi who killed his father.

One of Boba's big "achievements" is the capture of Han Solo. Darth Vader has promised a huge reward to anyone who can take over Han Solo's ship, the Millennium Falcon. Boba tracked down Solo and informed Vader of his whereabouts. Vader with a squad of stormtroopers arrived on the planet where Han Solo was hiding, and demanded the hero's surrender.

After gaining Solo, Vader freezes him in carbonite. The frozen Solo is then given to Boba by Vader, who is about to take Solo to Tatooine and give it to Jabba the Hutt, whom Solo owes.

On Tatooine, Boba received the coveted reward from the Hutt, while Solo tried to save his friends, and Chewbacca. The Rescuers, however, are themselves taken prisoner, and Jabba the Hutt sends Leia as a slave and concubine to Fetta. Here the villain Bob shows high moral stability and refuses to use the princess as a concubine, but keeps her with him so as not to offend Jabba the Hutt.

Later, an enraged Hutt takes Solo and his failed saviors away to feed them to the Sarlacca monster. Fett rides with them and engages Luke in a fight. During the battle, Boba's jetpack is damaged, and the hero is inside the sarlacc. However, Boba remains alive, kills the Sarlacc with a missile and gets out.

In the films of the Star Wars series, not much attention is paid to Boba Fett, but a detailed biography of the hero can be found in books on the Star Wars universe. The character of the hero is also revealed in the books more fully, while in the movie Boba appears as a secondary evil character. In a movie without a helmet or mask, the hero can only be seen as a child.

Full biography

There are many legends about Boba Fett's past. According to one, reflected in Tales of the Bounty Hunters, Fett was once called Jaster Mereel and served as a hired protector (local name for law enforcement) on the planet Harmonious Dawn. Concord Dawn). Meryl did an excellent job with his duties, but one day he killed his unprincipled colleague, a bribe-taker. Unrepentant of what he had done at the trial, Jester Merrill was sentenced to confiscation of property and expulsion from his home planet. According to other sources, Fett was involved in the Clone Wars and dated R2-D2, C-3PO, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Chewbacca long before he led Darth Vader to the rebels in Cloud City.

Ironically, very few legends tell when and how Fett obtained his powerful Mandalorian armor. The Mandalorians were members of a sect of raging warriors founded more than 4,000 years before the Galactic Civil War. During the Clone Wars, the Jedi Knights inflicted a crushing defeat on them, but individual members of the clan could survive. Fett's connection to the Mandalorians remains a mystery, but it is clear that the bounty hunter has worked hard to upgrade his armor. Built into the helmet were macrobinoculars, a broadband antenna, motion and sound sensors, a night vision device, and a comlink to communicate with Fett's Slave I. The gloves on the wrists contain a flamethrower and lasers, as well as a strong cable designed to wrap up the victim. Also among the useful little things are spike boots, mini-rocket launchers in knee pads, a grenade launcher and a jetpack with a turbo-ejected magnetic "cat" and a 20-meter cable. The weapon of choice for the bounty hunter is the BlasTech EE-3 blaster rifle.

On his right shoulder, Fett wears Wookiee braided scalps. These trophies are a symbol of Fett's hunting prowess, as Wookiees are extremely difficult to track down and kill. Fett hopes to add a Chewbacca scalp to the collection, but the Alliance hero escaped this sad fate.

Fett has received hundreds of awards for a wide variety of creatures, but the biggest jackpot hit the jackpot when he tracked down Han Solo in Cloud City. Since Solo was being hunted by both Darth Vader and Jabba the Hutt, Fett pocketed the money from both. Another gain from this mission was the envy of other bounty hunters, including Bossk and IG-88, who pursued Fett all the way to Jabba's palace, where he delivered Solo's frozen body in carbonite. Fett remained with Jabba until Luke, Leia, and Chewbacca, trying to save Solo, fell into the hands of the Hutt. Jabba sentenced the heroes to a slow death in the womb of the Sarlacc, but the birds escaped from the cage. In the resulting battle, Fett tried to capture Luke again, but the temporarily blinded Han Solo accidentally pushed the hunter into the throat of the Sarlacc. Bobe Fett would have disappeared there, experiencing unbearable suffering for a thousand years, while the Sarlacc would slowly digest the unfortunate bounty hunter ...

However, Boba Fett appears in almost any story that takes place after the Battle of Endor. It is said that he got out of the Sarlacc's stomach and was found by a good acquaintance, the bounty hunter Dengar. After recovering, Fett resumed his pursuit of Han Solo. His further adventures are described in sources such as Dark Empire, Dark Empire 2 and Boba Fett: Twin Engines of Destruction. Although he has been repeatedly defeated by Han, Chewbacca and Leia, Fett's obsession has not waned, and he may one day take Solo prisoner again.

Behind the scenes

Boba Fett originated from early sketches relating to Darth Vader. Lucas originally envisioned Vader to be a galactic mercenary and bounty hunter. In the end, he turned into a more suitable character for the fallen knight, however, Vader's "criminal" component subsequently developed into Boba Fett.

Boba Fett, whose appearance was designed by Ralph McQuarrie, first appeared in the 11-minute animation from Star Wars Holiday Special. In this cartoon, Luke Skywalker sets out with droids to find Han Solo and Chewbacca, who disappeared in search of a mysterious talisman. Luke crashes into one of the moons in the Panna system in his Y-wing fighter, and Fett comes to his aid. Together they find the Millennium Falcon, but it is soon revealed that Fett is working for Darth Vader. After a fight with Luke, Fett disappears.

After appearing in Holiday Special and accompanying print material, Fett became one of the most anticipated characters in The Empire Strikes Back. ILM put a lot of time and effort into creating the Boba Fett costume for the shoot. Many details were added by Joe Johnston, who also made parts of the costume. Changes continued to be made to the costume even after filming began, and each one was captured on film. For example, the first version of Boba Fett's helmet had eye-like markings above the viewing slot.

English actor Jeremy Bulloch spent about 20 minutes on the set of Empire to get into Boba Fett's costume. Bulloch starred as a bounty hunter in both Empire and Return of the Jedi, but his voice was later dubbed by an American actor. In total, Bobba Fett only speaks four phrases in the trilogy.

Boba Fett also appears in a special edition of A New Hope, during the conversation between Han Solo and Jabba the Hutt at Landing Pad 94. An ILM employee was wearing a suit, filmed against a blue background and carefully inserted into the frame. Several new shots of Fett in Return of the Jedi were taken in the same way.

In this article, you will learn:

Jango Fett- famous Mandalorian mercenary, assassin, bounty hunter. A character from the Star Wars universe. Fett's story consists of Legends (books) and Canons (original story from films and books written since 2014). Since Django died in the film, there is no reason not to believe in his life before he became a mercenary.

Legends

Birth and childhood

The hero was born in 66 BBY, on the agricultural planet Concord Down in the Mandalore sector, to the Fett family. Django had a sister, Arla.

As a child, Jango witnessed the murder of his parents when civil war broke out on the planet and his father hid the True Mandalorians in his home.

Death Watch, led by Thor Vizsla, killed Fett's parents and took his sister hostage. Django miraculously managed to escape by hiding. He helped the Mandalorians and they took the boy with them.

Wanting revenge, Django participated in an ambush on the Death Watch, where he blew up a tank and shot his parents' killer.

Sister Arla, was held captive for a long time, but ended up in a psycho hospital on Coruscant.

Mandalorian

Young Fett

Django remained among the Mandalorians, where he was raised and trained by the leader Jasper Mereel. The hero spent all his youth in training.

As an adult, Django became the leader of the "Django's Grunt" squad. His first mission was to distract a group of thugs, but the enemy turned out to be much larger than anticipated. In this mess, Fett's mentor Mereel died, abandoned by his colleague Montross.

Django managed to reach the rally point with a dead leader in his arms, after which he blamed Montross for everything, forcing him to go into exile, and he himself became the leader of the True Mandalorians.

As leader, Django continued Mereel's work by completing orders in the galaxy.

Django and Mereel

The real problem for Fett was Thor Vizsla, who tried to rebuild the Death Watch and accused the Mandalorians of robbery and murder. He even summoned the Jedi to deal with them.

When the Jedi, led by Padawan Komari Vosa, arrived at Jango's camp, Fett was angry with Vizsla and ordered them to open fire.

All Mandalorians were killed in this battle. Angered by Django, he did what made him famous - he defeated six Jedi with his bare hands. However, the outcome of the battle was a foregone conclusion. Fett is the only survivor.

Slavery and revenge

Django was sold into slavery and for a very long time was a slave on a ship carrying spices. His capture lasted until pirates attacked the ship.

After fleeing, Fett went to the site of the final battle in search of his armor and revenge. Finding the armor, Django set out to find Vizsla. He found him on the Deathrattle ship and got into a fight. The end of the battle took place on the planet Corellia, where Fett was hit with a poisonous blade, and the wounded Vizslu was torn to pieces by wild cats.

After the death of the leader, Vizla's Deathwatch disappeared, which put an end to the civil war on Concord Down.

Canon

Head hunter

The plot of Canon begins with the first film where the hero appeared, in Attack of the Clones (in the film, he was played by actor Temuera Morrison), however, there is a small background to Django, how he actually signed up to create an army of clones and became a legendary hunter.

After the end of the war, Fett left the Mandalorians, becoming a famous bounty hunter.

Django was a famous bounty hunter in the underworld of the Galaxy. He was the embodiment of strength, agility and prudence.

In the fight against the enemy, Fett used a sleek armored helmet and armor suit.

In 32 BBY, a famous hunter received a tempting job offer. A certain man named Tyranus, for a huge sum, offered him to hunt the former Jedi Komari Vos, who was one of those who destroyed Fett's team, and now has amassed the Bando Gora criminal organization.

Congratulations, Jango Fett. I am Tyranus. I have a suggestion for you. You are one of the chosen ones to participate in a special hunt for special prey. If you succeed, your reward will be five million Republic credits. ”

In a long search for Komari and her organization, Fett met a hunter named Zam Wesell and acquired a new ship, Slave I, to replace the destroyed Jaster's Legacy.

Another hunter with whom Django was prepared to fight was an old acquaintance, Montross. He tracked him down on his way to the Bogdan system where the Bando Gora was and attacked. Fett emerged victorious in this battle.

Finding Vosu, Django was captured. Komari inflicted many scars on his face, trying to make her a slave, but Zam Wesell saved the hunter in time. Together, they defeated the fallen Jedi. Django could kill Komari, but did not, instead of him it was done by his employer, who was in the room - Darth Tyranus, who is also Vosa's former teacher - Dooku.

Tyranus was amazed at Fett's abilities as he fought and killed the Jedi. All this was just a test for Django, who was offered much more than 5 million loans. Hunter was asked to become a donor for the creation of an army of clones, which in due time will need to fulfill "Order 66".

Attack of the clones

Fett agreed, traveling to Kamino, where replicas of him were made.

At the request of Django, another clone without genetic modifications was created, which the mercenary christened. He raised him as his own son and hoped that he would one day lead the True Mandalorians.

In 22 BBY, Dooku ordered a mercenary to kill Senator Amidala. This task Fett entrusted to an old acquaintance Zam Wesell. After two failed assassination attempts, Zam was captured by Obi-Wan Kenobi, after which Jango had to kill her with a poison dart.

In 22 BBY, Django and his son attended a performance by Darth Tyranus on the planet Geonosis. A sudden attack by the Jedi forced Fett to once again fight against powerful enemies. He managed to defeat several Jedi when he was attacked. Mace was much faster than Django due to which the renowned hunter lost his head.

After that, Boba hated all the Jedi and vowed to kill Mace Windu.
