The second group consisted of those whose stage experience was, perhaps, equal to that of Leshchenko himself: however, they could not boast of the same fame.
At the same time, it is unlikely that the second group had a clear advantage over the first. The criteria for the mentors when recruiting a team or choosing the finalists remain their personal secret, but when it came to the voting of the audience in the final, they did not speak out as unambiguously as they could. For example, in the team of Valery Meladze, an experienced Sergey Manukyan easily overpowered Natalia Spevak, who started singing quite recently, and Lydia Muzaleva, a graduate of the Institute of Culture with a degree in "leader of a folk choir", won over Pelageya, although her separation from Olga Muravina(she admits that she still does not know musical notation) was not the largest, only 20%. Leonid Agutin in the team did not have such a choice: both finalists, Nikolay Agutin(mentor's father) and Nikolay Arutyunov, have solid performance experience (Arutyunov won).
