Ovsei Ovseevich (Shike) Driz (1908-1971) - Jewish Soviet poet who wrote in Yiddish. Born on May 16, 1908. He grew up an orphan. The childhood of Shike Driza Jr. passed in the house of his grandfather - a tinker in the town of Krasnoe near Vinnitsa. After graduating from an elementary Jewish school, Driz went to Kiev and went to work at the Arsenal plant. At the same time he studied at the art school, at the Kiev Institute of Art. From childhood he painted and sculpted. But in full force his talent was revealed in poetry. In 1930, the first collection of poems by Ovsei Driz "Bright Life" was published. And in 1934 - the next collection "Steel Power". Recognition came to Ovsey Driz in his sixties. Composers willingly wrote music to his texts. Cartoons were filmed based on his plays.
