Mi band does not sync with phone. Xiaomi Mi Band connection and setup. Phone connection

Over the past few years, almost all major players in the electronics market have introduced their own wearable gadgets. Among them, there are many smart watches or high-quality sports devices, which is the modern model from Xiaomi. The advantage of the solution from the Chinese brand is not only practicality, excellent functionality, attractive appearance, but also a very affordable price, which no other manufacturer can compete with today.

Traditional for Xiaomi is a responsible approach to the delivery set. The buyer receives a neat box of ordinary gray cardboard. After opening it, the user immediately sees the core of the gadget. Below is a high-quality rubber strap, a USB cable for charging (the charger itself is not included), as well as instructions for the Xiaomi fitness bracelet.

How to turn on Mi Band

Before you turn on the Xiaomi fitness bracelet, you must first recharge it. To do this, one of the sidewalls of the gadget contains two metal contacts placed in the charging slot (when the gadget is fully assembled, you must first remove the cover). Then you need to connect the USB plug to any power source (laptop or smartphone charger).

While charging is in progress, you need to open the application store on your smartphone by installing a proprietary application from it MiFit. The program is available for devices running iOS or Android operating systems. It is better to throw away the standard user manual right away, because the instruction in Russian will help you set up the Xiaomi Mi Band fitness bracelet.

Registering a Xiaomi fitness bracelet

Before using the Xiaomi fitness bracelet, you need to register your own account, which is done through a browser or through a mobile application. The first option involves filling out a questionnaire on the official website, indicating the country, email address and date of birth. When filling out, it is better to uncheck the item “Stay up to date with news and offers from the Mi store”, because this is an offer to send news written in Chinese.

Also, the branded Xiaomi Mi Band Black fitness bracelet, the instruction suggests the possibility of using a phone number instead of email, for which there is a special item at the bottom of the page. After completing all the specified actions, the user will be prompted to enter a password, its confirmation and a verification code. Then you can log in to the system using your login (mail or phone) and the created password.

Additionally, it is possible to register through the application directly from its interface. Everything goes here in a similar way, only when filling out the questionnaire it is better to initially use an email address, because for users of Russia (CIS countries) the possibility of registering by phone number has not yet been debugged.

Setting up a Xiaomi fitness bracelet

Next, you need to understand how to set up a Xiaomi fitness bracelet. To do this, you need to combine the gadget itself, the application and the previously created account.

  • go through authorization using the data entered earlier;
  • upon request, enter nickname, gender, full date of birth, height, current weight, minimum number of steps (goal for the day).

All data of the sports bracelet will allow you to change later.

How to connect a Xiaomi fitness bracelet

The next question is about how to connect the Xiaomi Mi Band fitness bracelet. There is nothing complicated here - the connection is carried out via wireless technology Bluetooth version 4.0, and the user simply needs to follow the recommendations of the application. First you need to select the type of device, and when you are asked to click on the gadget, you need to lightly tap it with your finger. A successful operation will be displayed with the inscription "Binding completed". In addition, as the Xiaomi Mi Band 1S user manual says, after a trouble-free binding, its firmware update will begin. In this case, you need to keep the gadget next to the phone, and upon completion of the operation, you will automatically see the application interface.

Mi Band gestures

There are three separate tabs inside the Mi Fit app: "Activity", "Profile" And "Notifications". Statistics provides the ability to view the following information:

1. Data on the steps taken with a detailed display of activity for the current day.
2. Statistics for previous periods.
3. Ability to group information by days, weeks, months and the general course of classes.

There is also data on the user's sleep. Statistics are also detailed, including information for the current and previous days, as well as sleep phases, awakening moments, the duration of all phases, and so on.

In addition, Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse, as indicated by the company's manual, allows you to watch the dynamics of changes in your weight. It also displays BMI, the difference in weight compared to the previous mark. Their introduction allows you to calculate the physique index. All data can be switched between multiple users.

Usage running features only possible after activating the GPS. You just need to wait until the number of satellites icon turns green, after which you can press the "Start" button. While running, the Mi Fit app will display basic information. Additionally, the program has a "Map" view that displays the trajectory of the run. If you need to stop the function, it is enough to make a long press of the "Pause" button.

It is possible to view information about how much has been passed per day, through a smartphone or by moving a hand (as if watching the time). Such a gesture will cause the indicators to flicker:

  • no glow - a third of the planned number of steps has not been reached;
  • one flashes - more than 30% passed;
  • two flicker - more than 2/3 of the daily plan is completed.

Having reached the goal, the user will feel a vibration, accompanied by a wink of the gadget. When checking the device with a gesture, the completed goal will be displayed by the glow of the extreme indicators, and the flashing three lights, as the official instruction for the Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse fitness bracelet says, demonstrate that the set task has been exceeded.

Additional features of the device are represented by various notifications: incoming call alert, duplicate phone alarm that works even with a discharged smartphone, as well as message notifications on your phone or in certain applications.

Xiaomi gadget is IP67 protected, so the device is completely protected from dust and allows you to briefly dive with it to a depth of up to 1 meter. The first version of the gadget had a problem with the quality of the strap, but for new batches a stronger alloy is used, which increased the overall wear resistance of the product.

Among modern devices designed for sports, fitness bracelets deserve special attention. Their main task is to count calories burned, record kilometers traveled and monitor heart rate.

A fitness tracker will be useful not only for professional athletes. This device will help those who just want to lose a few extra pounds and track various indicators of physical activity.

Phone connection

In order to access the full functionality of the fitness bracelet, you need to synchronize it with your smartphone. Consider this process using the most popular fitness tracker from Xiaomi as an example. First of all, you need to download and install a special Mi Fit application on your gadget.

After launching the application, you need to follow these steps:

  • start the application;
  • enter your MI account. If you don't have one, then you need to register. It is better to do this before connecting the bracelet to the smartphone;
  • after successful authorization, a page will open where you need to specify your personal data. This is weight, height and date of birth;
  • from the proposed list of devices, select "bracelet";
  • place the fitness tracker near your smartphone so that the devices can sync. When the phone detects the bracelet, a corresponding message will appear on the screen.

Confirmation of the request is carried out by pressing a button on the fitness tracker.

Now the fitness bracelet is connected to the phone. Using the installed application, you can control the device, change settings and set new sports goals.

Bracelets from other manufacturers are connected in a similar way, but other programs are used. You can find the desired application using the QR code located in the instructions for the device.

Setting preferences

After the bracelet is successfully connected to the phone, you need to set it up. The application has several tabs that allow you to manage the operation of the bracelet:

  1. Notifications. In this tab, you can set up alerts, enable the screen unlock feature, and add an account.
  2. Profile. In this section, you set activity and weight goals, set up inactivity or wake-up notifications. You can also add friends to the app.

In addition to standard programs for fitness bracelets, today there are applications that significantly expand their functionality. For example, some of them allow you to use your fitness tracker as a remote control for your smartphone's camera.

In recent years, the number of various accessories for smartphones has been increasing, and many manufacturers have already introduced new fitness bracelets to the general public. Xiaomi is no exception - for all the time they have released two hits - Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse and Xiaomi Mi Band 2. The advantages of each of the above bracelets are practicality, nice appearance, maximum functionality with many settings and a very affordable competitive price. Customize the gadget to your taste and use it with maximum comfort, because in addition to the clock, there are many other cool features that you will definitely include in your use!

Traditionally, Xiaomi is very responsible for its bracelets, and especially for their delivery set. Upon purchase, you get a neat gray cardboard box, after opening which you will see a "capsule" - the core of the device. Under the bracelet itself there is a rubber strap made of high-quality material, a USB cable for charging the bracelet (there is no cube included) and instructions for the fitness tracker. It is in this kit that the Xiaomi Mi Band fitness bracelet is supplied.

How to turn on Mi Band 1S

When you first start the Xiaomi Mi Band 1S bracelet, we recommend that you recharge it, since most often the device comes to the buyer completely discharged, and only then fully start it. To do this, remove the bracelet capsule and insert it into the charger with two shiny contacts inside. After that, connect the charger to the outlet through the “cube” from the smartphone or connect it to the laptop / PC - if everything is turned on correctly, the diodes on the bracelet will start flashing. In the future, it will be enough to turn on the charging of the gadget approximately once a month - this is quite enough, because it can be turned on for quite a long time.

In the meantime, your mi band bracelet is charging, download and install the application for Android Mi Fit on your smartphone (if you need Russian, download and install) or for iOS (iPhone, iPad) https://itunes.apple.com/en/app /mi-fit/id938688461?mt=8 - through it you will further interact with your fitness tracker. The user manual that was in the box will not be useful to you - configure the bracelet through this manual.

Registration

An important point in setting up Mi Band is - if you have not set up Mi-accounts before, then you can do this through a browser or mobile application. In the first case, go to the official website and fill out the questionnaires there, indicating your email address, date of birth and your country. And we recommend that you uncheck the box for sending messages from Mi Store. Plus, some instructions say that you can use your mobile number instead of an e-mail address - to do this, click on a special item at the bottom of the page. After all the above steps are completed, you will be prompted to enter the password twice, as well as enter the verification code. You can log into the system through the settings using your username and password.

But when launching the application and registering through it, it is better to use an email address, not a phone number - for users from the CIS countries, registration through a mobile number has not yet been configured properly.

Xiaomi Mi Band: setup

And yet, the main question for users who have just bought a brand new xiaomi accessory is the question “how to set up a fitness bracelet”. Setting it up is very simple:

  1. We activate the application using the registered login and password. The app will ask you to enter your gender, nickname, weight, height, date of birth and desired minimum number of steps per day. You can change your personal information later if you wish.
  2. We connect the bracelet. Everything is very simple here - you need to connect and configure via Bluetooth wireless technology (turn it on on your smartphone), you just need to follow the recommendations prescribed in the application. First select the type of device, after that the application will ask you to press the bracelet - tap lightly on it, this will be enough. If this manipulation correctly configured the bracelet and everything was done correctly, an inscription will appear on the screen stating that the device has been successfully paired.
  3. After successful connection, the bracelet firmware will be updated, and for this operation to go smoothly, keep the tracker near your smartphone. When the firmware update is completed, you will see the open interface of the application on the phone display - now you can delve into the settings and activate the most interesting features.

Mi Band Gestures

In the Mi Fit app itself, you can see three tabs called "Profile", "Activity" And "Notifications". In statistics, you can view:

  • The number of steps taken and activity per day;
  • Statistics for any past period;
  • Grouping information by different time periods (day, week, month) and for the entire course of training;
  • Information about the sleep of the owner of the bracelet: phases, duration of deep sleep, REM sleep, when there was an awakening and much more;
  • The dynamics of changes in weight and the difference in weight for different periods;
  • Body mass index, physique.

You can create multiple accounts, run them at different times, and view data from multiple users. In the achievement bar, you can see the indicator of the steps taken per day and whether the goal set initially was achieved. Sort information by date, share achievements on social networks or send them via instant messengers.

Function "Run" in Mi Bend, you can activate it when you turn on the GPS - wait until the icon for the number of active satellites turns green and start your activity. While you are running, Mi Fit will show basic information about your workout - if this function is enabled, you will see the speed, average pace and distance covered, calories burned, as well as the running trajectory. You can stop the countdown by long pressing "Pause".

In addition to viewing statistics through a smartphone, you can find out the statistics you are interested in with a special movement - as if looking at a wristwatch. This gesture will make the indicators flicker - if two out of three diodes are flashing, then you have already completed 2/3 of the daily norm, one - more than 30% have been completed, the bracelet does not glow at all - you have not yet completed even a third of the number of steps planned for the day.

When the set target is reached, the vibration will turn on, and the bracelet will flash at this time. When you check the distance traveled with a gesture "watch time view" and two extreme diodes are lit, which means that you have reached the goal, and if all three are blinking, the goal has been exceeded.

Other functions

  • The included incoming call notification function is very convenient;
  • Alarm clock (switching on occurs even when the phone is discharged);
  • Notifications about notifications in applications on a smartphone or about SMS messages - even the most ignorant user easily activates the function in the settings;
  • Dust- and partially waterproof (you can shower with a wristband or briefly dive with it to a depth of one meter);
  • Pulse measurement.

The first version of the bracelet became famous for the poor quality of the strap, but for more modern models, the most durable alloy is now used, and this significantly increases the wear resistance of the device.

This is a unique accessory for everyone. You can see an overview of the appearance and unpacking in article. New instructions for connecting and setting up Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse (also suitable for the first model Xiaomi Mi Band) you can see .

And in this lesson, we would like to tell you what data a bracelet can show in a mobile application and how to set it all up - it's absolutely not difficult. Preparing for the first run
To get started, just charge your tracker from a computer or phone charger - charging time is about 2-3 hours.

You will be informed about the completion of the LEDs on the front side of the tracker.

Mobile app installation
Without a branded mobile application, nowhere - therefore, the first thing we do is download the "Mi Fit" application from our store.

This application is absolutely free and safe. The developer is the Xiaomi manufacturing company.

Preparing the phone itself
There is nothing complicated here - we just turn on the bluetooth in the phone settings.

You must activate the bluetooth, but do not connect it to any of the devices.

First launch of the application and registration
We go into our application and go through a simple registration process through the mailbox (email) - this is necessary so that you have your own unique account in which all your activity data will be stored. Also, the account allows you to share such statistics through social networks and other channels. Next, enter your parameters (height, weight) and the number of steps that you usually take or want to take (we recommend setting the highest value).

After that, we get to the main page - you will have zero values, in our pictures there is already data from the tracker that we managed to use.

To synchronize, go to the settings menu, which is located in the upper right corner. Select the "Settings" item.

Select the very first item "Mi Band". We do not need all the other items - they are responsible for synchronization with branded scales, which can be purchased separately, as well as social networks within China.

We need the "Pair" item at the very bottom - we have it shown as "Unpair" since we have already set up our tracker. After that, a quick synchronization process will begin, which will take a couple of minutes, you may need to put your finger on the tracker during this process to calibrate.

If you activate it, the bracelet will vibrate and the LEDs will blink.

The "Band light color" function will allow you to change the color of the LEDs. Set your favorite color.

The "Band Location" item is required, since in it you choose on which hand you will wear your Xiaomi fitness bracelet, the correctness of the data it collects depends on it.

The item "Vibrate for incoming calls" is responsible for notification of incoming calls to your phone. It will be activated only when the bracelet is connected to the phone via bluetooth. Also available is the setting of the time after which the bracelet will begin to vibrate and blink, notifying you of an incoming call. You can choose a convenient time after which a signal should be sent to the bracelet after the start of the call.

And our already familiar "Unpair" item, which serves to connect and completely disconnect the tracker from the phone (it is not recommended to disconnect it only if you have completely changed the tracker to a new one).

Setting up these items will take you a few minutes, but it will greatly increase the accuracy of reading data and expand the capabilities of the tracker.

Alarm setting
Under the item "Settings" there is a wonderful item "Alarm" - it allows you to manage alarms.

We have three alarms available. For each, you can set your own time and days of activity.

An important item is "Early bird alarm" - it is responsible for "soft awakening".

This function begins to analyze your condition in even more detail and, half an hour before the main wake-up time, finds the most comfortable moment for getting up - the bracelet starts to vibrate on your arm and you wake up with a "light" head. After all, everyone has experienced for themselves how easy it is to wake up, stay in bed for another 5 or 20 minutes and the state will no longer be so cheerful. And the Xiaomi fitness bracelet helps you stay "cucumber" at any time!

View daily activity
If you click on the circle on the first screen, you will be taken to the daily activity report for one day.

All your daily activity is shown here, broken down into hourly periods. You can track: how much you walked, how much you ran, the number of steps, the number of kilometers, calories burned, and how long each of the activities lasted.

If you click on each of the chart columns and hold your finger on it, you will receive information about the activity specifically at that hour.

In the upper right corner there is a menu item for accessing general statistics.

You only need a couple of seconds to understand whether you are following the given mode or not.

View sleep phase
This screen is accessible by simply swiping your finger to the right from the main page, or by switching to the daily activity menu with the button at the bottom.

In the sleep menu, you can track: what time you went to bed this night, what time you woke up, how long a light sleep lasted, how long a deep sleep lasted, whether you woke up at night, got up and whether you walked that night. Everything is available in the context of visual chart columns - you can click on each of them and get data for each hourly phase of sleep.

As in the activity mode, you can view the overall statistics of this night, using the button in the upper right corner.

It also has all the general information for one night about your sleep.

General statistics for all days
If you return to the main screen, then in the upper left corner there is a button responsible for activity and sleep statistics for the entire period of using the tracker, broken down into days, weeks, months, and even years.

In this menu, you can see the growth and decline in activity on the visual columns of the charts. Using the "+" and "-" buttons at the bottom, you can refine the chart: zoom in days and zoom out to weeks, months and years.

If you click on the menu button in the upper right corner, you will go to the general data menu for the entire activity time at once.

If you click on the crescent button at the bottom, then, as in the case of activity statistics, you will fall into the overall sleep analysis for all time. Here, just like in the general daily activity, you can see all the information about your sleep and its "quality" for any period. To control, use the "+" and "-" buttons at the bottom.

If you click on the menu button in the upper right corner, you will go to the general data menu for the entire sleep period at once.

Thus, you can easily understand whether you have been doing enough sports, as well as how much sleep you have in any of the time periods - simply and conveniently.

General conclusion
We talked about the main settings and data that can be obtained using this fitness tracker.

Unfortunately, despite the fact that the smart bracelet can distinguish between sleep phases, the company has deprived its users of waking up with a smart alarm clock. It's not in the tracker. But with the help of third-party software it can be installed.

How to measure the pulse on Xiaomi Mi Band 2

There is no automatic heart rate measurement in Mi Band 2. To read the heart rate, you need to call the required menu item with the touch button, and also try to be stationary for more accurate data. The tracker screen will display the number of beats per minute, but the indicators will not be saved. In this case, you need to use the Mi Fit application and the path Statistics -> Pulse -> Measure. Indicators of the number of heart contractions can be memorized.

During running and intense training, you will not be able to measure the pulse. Only in a static position and during sleep by turning on the Sleep Assistant function.

Smartphone camera control

With Mi Band 2, controlling the camera on your smartphone becomes even easier. In order to take a selfie using the gadget button on your hand, you need to use two applications preinstalled on your phone.

The first is through which you need to shoot, and the second is Mi Band 2 Selfie, which allows the wearable device to use its button as a remote control for the camera of a mobile device.

When starting the latter, you need to enter the MAC, then click the "connect" button. In this case, the "disconnect" button should appear: it means that the connection was successful and the smart bracelet will vibrate.

Open Free Camera on your phone and press the button on Mi Band 2.

If the software does not work for some reason, you need to turn Bluetooth off and on again on your phone. Some users get to connect their gadget not the first time. You may have to do this up to 3-4 times.

Mi Band 2 can also switch music on your smartphone's player. This feature is available thanks to the free Mi Band 2 Func Button application from the Google Play store, which you can download to your mobile gadget.

This software will give access to various additional functions that are activated by pressing once, twice and three times on the button of the bracelet, as well as by turning the brush. And among these additions is music player control, including switching tracks, pausing, selecting and starting music.

As the name of the program suggests, it deals with the many functions associated with pressing a button on a wearable device on your wrist. It has a lot of settings related not only to music, but also to the timer, vibration, reset and acceptance of an incoming call, alarm sound and volume control.

The interface is intuitive, the main thing is to take the time to figure out what's what.

Conclusion

For a fitness band at such a low price, it's quite a comprehensive device with the ability to pair with a smartphone to provide more detailed information.

Beautiful, lightweight and comfortable to wear with a huge selection of interchangeable straps in a variety of colors, this bracelet is IP67 dust and water resistant so you don't have to take it off every time you wash your hands or take a shower. And the function of displaying various information on its screen is one of the useful features for users who do not want to miss a single notification from social networks or email, but at the same time do not take their smartphone out of their bag.
