10 samples of products from McDonald's were sent for research. First, the labeling of the samples and its compliance with Russian legislation were studied. Simply put, how honest is the manufacturer with consumers regarding the composition of its products, or does it have something to hide.

It turned out that on the packaging of half of the products, namely “Chicken Magnets”, “6 large shrimp”, “Blackberry Pie”, “Milk” cocktail, “Strawberry” ice cream, information about the product was not presented in full. “Chicken Magnets”, “6 large shrimp”, “Blackberry Pie” do not indicate the composition of the recipe components, nor the weight, nor the regulatory document in accordance with which the products were manufactured.

And in the “Milk” cocktail, experts found fat of vegetable origin. Moreover, the content of milk fat substitutes in this drink is at least 90% of the total fat. There is no other way to describe such a cocktail than as a scam.

In fact, the consumer is misled, since this cocktail, according to the requirements of the technical regulations for milk and dairy products, cannot be called “milk” by law, says Mikhail Anshakov, chairman of the OPP.

Human rights activists also draw attention to another interesting fact about the activities of the McDonald's restaurant chain in our country. The Federal Arbitration Court of Moscow recognized in July last year that McDonald's in Russia does not provide restaurant services, but sells food products as a store , and its activities should be subject to not 18% VAT, but 10%.

True, having received a tax break, the fast food magnate completely did not take into account the fact that, according to Russian law, stores selling food products are required to provide complete and reliable information about the product, including its composition. McDonald's continues to fool the consumer, which is once again proven by the results of the examination carried out by the OPP.

The company's non-transparent activities, however, find active support from representatives of the judicial system. In addition to reducing the tax rate, the same Federal Arbitration Court of Moscow blessed establishments located on Arbat and Bolshoy Nikolopeskovsky Lane with an unprecedentedly low rent rate - 1 ruble. for 1 sq. meter per year.

Why a company that produces not the healthiest food is awarded such unprecedented privileges, one can only guess. OZPP, in turn, asks the court to recognize the actions of Moscow-McDonald's CJSC as illegal in relation to an indefinite number of consumers and to oblige the company to provide reliable information about the products to the extent required by current legislation, indicating it on the packaging.
