In the publication, in "pictures" we traced the process of the appearance of the player on the computer. There is also a problem: intrusive advertising that appears at startup KMP 3.7 and slowing down its work, as evidenced by thousands of angry users on the Web, some of which have switched to more "friendly" counterparts. What to do is not necessary, because simple solutions to this problem are known, two of them are under the cut.
Method one . Just go back to the previous "ad-free" version of the program (build 3.6 can be downloaded, in the blog Catalog of rating software), by deleting the existing 3.7 . At the end of the procedure, do not forget to turn off automatic updates KMP, via "hot" key " F2" → in settings " General"on tab" When starting…"uncheck the checkbox next to the item" Auto check for updates(screenshot below).
Method two . Does not require software uninstallation, but requires some accuracy in actions.
First, check that the logo (emblem) of the existing built-in theme (cover) is standard. To do this, click on the player window with the right mouse button → in the drop-down menu, select " Covers" → "Emblem" → "Standard cover logo".
Secondly, to remove the last "brakes" at startup, you should prohibit KMPlayer access to the Internet. This is easily done by editing the system file hosts about which I wrote in detail. With administrator rights in Notepad, open this file located in the folder C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc, and add the line
127.0.0.1 player.kmpmedia.net
What should happen - in the last screenshot. Then, after saving, close the file and restart your favorite media player - now it, as before, starts briskly and without any ads.
Important!
Since the first solution to the problem, with a "rollback" to one of the previous versions, is a dead end, I recommend immediately trying the second option with editing the file hosts.

Yes, there are many players besides KPMpayer, but there are cases when this particular player can handle the playback. It has a bunch of settings and works from its own codecs, which makes it independent of the system. For example, I had such a case when not a single player (windows MP, LA, classic MP and others) could play the Russian audio track in the film. And I needed her. This is where KPMpayer helped me.
After that, I started using this player, but I was annoyed by ads:
This ad can be disabled. This is done simply: we need to change the windows “host” file, which is responsible for redirection (redirects addresses like site.ru to IP). In this case, we need to redirect all KMP Internet addresses to the internal IP 127.0.0.1, so the program will not be able to access the Internet and advertising will not work. Also, any communication of the program with the Internet will not work.
Important: please note that KMP installs with itself a program that lives well on the Internet (communicates via the Internet with users on the video network). The program is called "pandora" and it eats traffic. I recommend going to the "add/remove programs" panel and check if you have "pandora" installed, if there is, remove it, it does not affect the operation of KMP.
Removing ads
Open the file "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts" in notepad and add these lines at the end
127.0.0.1 player.kmpmedia.net 127.0.0.1 log.kmplayer.com 127.0.0.1 cdn.kmplayer.com 127.0.0.1 cdn.pandora.tv
If you can't save the host file
"host" is a system file and Windows may not allow you to change this file. To bypass this protection, you need to open notepad with administrator rights. For this:
1. Open a notepad with administrator rights: go to the “C:\Windows” folder, find the “notepad.exe” file there, right-click (right-click) and select “Run as Administrator” from the menu.
2. Open the host file in notepad: File > Open > File path: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts > Button: Open.
3. Edit and save the file. The file will now be saved.
Another option is to change the host
In the window that opens, select the user and check the box next to "Full access".

* this method has a small drawback, the kmplayer will start up a little slower than before, since at this time it will try to access the Internet.
P.S. On many sites, in order to disable ads in KMPlayer on the start window, it is recommended to go through the menu to "Covers" - "Emblem" and select the standard emblem there. In the latest version of the player, this setting "flies" immediately after it is restarted, so I did not paint this method.

I myself have been using this player for 15 years, if not more. The player is really good, and it's free. Which is already a big plus! But, a few years ago, modern versions of this program had a big drawback - a lot of advertising!
I understand that advertising is the engine of progress and so on. I myself use contextual advertising to earn money. But, one thing is not intrusive contextual advertising, and it is completely different when advertising flickers, distracts, and so on.
Previously, when launching this player, it simply played the video you needed and there was no advertising. Now, in new versions of the program, when you start the player, a window opens on the right, which the user does not need at all, but which has a lot of ads. Also, there are a lot of ads in the main window.
This is very distracting and the desire to use this player disappears. In this player, there are more ads than in the well-known UTorrent program (you can also advertise in it).
I noticed that many users who consider themselves advanced get out of this situation in a simple way - they use old versions of KMPlayer and disable updates. Of course, this method deserves attention, but older versions do not reproduce all systems. It is better to enable updates, otherwise, the player will not play every video. We will do differently, we will simply disable ads in the player itself.
