Disable hp ink control. How to get rid of the ink level control

There are frequent situations when, after refilling or replacing cartridges, the printing machine still refuses to print, displaying an information board and / or a screen with a message that there is no ink in the ink tank. In such cases, the printer needs to be "helped to understand" that new cartridges have been installed in it or that the existing ones have been refilled. This is done manually by resetting the paint counters. Next, we will look at how to perform this procedure on Canon printers.

Diagnostics

Before you start resetting the counters, you should make sure that there are no following problems:

  • If ink cartridges have been replaced, you need to make sure that ink tanks suitable for this printer model are installed. This can be checked in the technical documentation for the printing machine. The user manual must contain information on which ink models to use to work with an existing printer. If the instruction has been lost, it can be downloaded from the official Canon website (https://www.canon.ru) or at.
  • If you have refilled cartridges, make sure that ink does not get on any of the electrical contacts of the ink tank itself or the carriage. Although this usually results in some other kind of problem, such as "Cartridge not detected", sometimes no ink errors are observed when the surface of the contact pad is dirty. The same can happen if a foreign object gets stuck between the ink tank and the carriage.
  • The printer does not give any errors, except for messages about the lack of ink in the cartridges. With hardware or software on the front panel of the printing machine or the computer screen, a variety of errors may appear in turn, not related to empty ink tanks.

If one of the problems listed above occurs, the standard ink level reset solutions may not work.

Reset cartridge counters

It should be borne in mind that resetting cartridges does not always mean resetting the counters built into the ink tank. In most cases, the reset procedure involves simply turning off the counters, i.e. the ink level control function is disabled. This leads to the fact that the printer is not informed about the lack of ink in the ink tank, and it continues to "think" about the presence of ink in the cartridges.

It follows that the printing machine will be able to perform the printing procedure even in the absence of ink. Running the print head idle can easily lead to the failure of the latter. Therefore, after performing the next reset, the user must monitor the level of ink in the ink tanks on their own, adding them if necessary.

To reset (i.e. turn off) the ink level counter on Canon printers, you can resort to one of two solutions:

  1. Reset the ink level when using the buttons on the front of the printer. This method is also called a hard reset.
  2. Using official Canon software or third-party utility programs that allow you to reset the cartridge counter by sending the appropriate command from the computer to the printer. This procedure does not involve performing any mechanical operations on the printer itself, which is why it is called a soft reset.

Hard reset

Almost every Canon printer model allows you to reset the ink levels without having to use a computer or perform any manipulations with the electronic-mechanical components of the machine. Also, keep in mind that different models of Canon printers may have different counter reset procedures.

For most Canon MFPs (multifunctional devices), the procedure for disabling ink level monitoring can be performed as follows:

  • When an ink low message appears on the computer screen, press the Stop/Reset button on the MFP (the button has a triangle in a circle) for at least 5 seconds. In some printer models, you need to hold the button longer, but usually no more than 30 seconds.
  • If printing does not resume, turn off the printer for a few minutes, turn it on and try to print the document again.
  • If this does not help, turn off the printer (you can simply unplug the power cord from the outlet), press the "Stop / Reset" button and, without releasing it, turn on the device.

There are more complex procedures for disabling paint meters. For example, for many Canon printers in the MP range (eg MP520) and MX range (eg MX310) this is done as follows:

  1. Turn off the printer using the off button.
  2. Next, you need to enable the service mode of the printer. To do this, press and hold the "Stop / Reset" button, then press the power button and also continue to hold it (ie 2 buttons at the same time). Release the Stop/Reset button and press it twice (the power button must be pressed at this point). Release both buttons. The indicator on the front panel starts blinking - the printer has entered the service mode.
  3. To reset the main counter, it remains to press the "Stop / Reset" button several times, and then once on the power button. If you click on "Stop / Reset" 4 times, the main counter will be reset, 5 times - the absorber ("diaper") counter. Pressing 6 times will reset both counters.

The same procedure for modern Canon MFPs of the Pixma range (for example, MP520) is performed as follows:

  • Turn off the printer using the power button.
  • Find the following 4 buttons on the control panel: 1) power "ON / OFF" or "Power"; 2) button for turning on the black and white print mode (depicted as a rhombus with a strip inside); 3) "OK" button; 4) "Stop/Reset" button.
  • Press all 4 buttons at the same time, continuing to hold them for 10-15 seconds.
  • Then release only one power button.
  • The printer will turn on, as evidenced by the sounds of the motors. The ink level control function is disabled.

Soft reset native software

If the printer software allows you to turn off the ink level control function, then it is better to use it first, and not third-party applications.

  • Open the "Properties" of the printer on the computer. In the case of Windows systems, this is done as follows: go to the "Control Panel", go to the "Hardware and Sound" section, then "Devices and Printers"; find your printer in the list of available printers, right-click on its icon and select the "Properties" menu item.
  • Going to the "Properties" of the printer, find the "Maintenance" tab, and in it - "Printer Status Information".
  • In the new window - click on the "Settings" button.
  • Find the item "Display a warning automatically", next to which there will be a checkmark.
  • Clear the checkbox and click OK or Apply. Ink level control will be disabled.

Not all steps from this instruction (at least after entering the "Properties" of the printer) will be true. Turning off the ink counter may vary depending on printer models and software versions. However, the algorithm of actions is approximately the same in all cases.

Soft reset by third-party programs

There are many utilities created by amateurs that allow you to reset the ink levels at the software level. One such utility is MPTool. With its help, the counters on Canon MP series printers and MFPs are successfully reset.

  • Download and install the program.
  • Turn off the printer, and then turn it on in the service mode, as described in the instructions for resetting the counters of MP and MX series printers (point "2" in the second instruction of the chapter "Hardware Reset").
  • Launch the "MPTool" utility. The printer connected to the computer and operating in service mode will be displayed in the left part of the program window.
  • In the right part of the window, find the "Operations" section.
  • In the subsection "Ink Counter" there will be two buttons - "Reset Black" and "Reset Color".
  • Press the "Reset Black" button to reset the black ink cartridges or the "Reset Color" button to reset the color ink tanks.
  • Turn off and on the printer in normal operation.
  • Operation completed.

There is another utility - iPTool. It is suitable for many models of Canon Pixma printers. Its interface almost completely corresponds to that of the "MPTool" program, so you can use the same instructions to reset the cartridges.

Many users are wondering how to disable ink level control in printers and multifunctional devices, because. messages about the lack of toner are sometimes not true and simply interfere with work.

You will need

  • - Printer or multifunctional device.

Instruction

  • Disable ink level monitoring. This can be done by resetting the chips built into the cartridges. Just they are designed to determine the level of ink and prevent refilling the cartridge. But resetting the chip is quite difficult.
  • Wait until one cartridge runs out of ink and a warning message appears on the printer/MFP display, prompting you to continue or stop printing. In this window, click "OK", or click on the Stop/Reset button (the button looks like a red/orange triangle in a circle). Printing will resume. When one of the cartridges runs out of ink, the printer screen will reappear prompting you to replace the cartridge. If you have an all-in-one/printer with a built-in cartridge, press and hold the Stop/Reset button for ten seconds. Thus, you will disable monitoring the level of ink in the cartridge.
  • Turn off the ink level control of the printer with separate ink tanks, to do this, answer the questions that will appear on the computer screen. When prompted on the screen, press the Stop/Reset button if you have an all-in-one or Resume/Cancel if you have a printer and hold it for ten seconds. Turn off control over the amount of ink for each cartridge individually. This will not block printing or affect print quality.
  • Disable the Ink Monitor feature on the computer it is connected to. To do this, go to the "Control Panel", select the "Printers" option. Next, call the context menu on the printer icon, select the "Properties" command. Then go to the "Maintenance" tab, select the "Printer Status Information" option, click on the "Settings" button. Uncheck "Display a warning automatically".

  • Many users are wondering how to disable ink level control in printers and multifunctional devices, because. messages about the lack of toner are sometimes not true and simply interfere with work. This problem is especially common when using refilled or non-native (third-party) cartridges.

    There are several solutions to this problem. As a rule, the application of one method or another depends on the printer model.

    1. This can be done by resetting the chips built into the cartridges. Just they are designed to determine the level of ink and prevent refilling the cartridge. But resetting the chip is quite difficult.

    AT You will need to purchase a reprogrammer, that is, a device with which you can reset the cartridge chip, and this is an additional cost. In addition, the zeroing procedure requires certain skills, so do not undertake to learn how to program and reset cartridge chipsets on your own, it is best to ask you to help deal with this person who has already experienced this process.

    2. The second option when disconnecting is as follows: check the messages that appear that the device is running out of ink. On the printer body, press and hold the Stop/Reset button with a triangle and a flashing light for 10 seconds. The ink monitoring system will be disabled for the specific ink tank (the one you received the notification about).

    3. For some cartridges, there is another method: Open "Control Panel" through the menu "Start", in the category "Printers and other equipment" select icon "Printers and Faxes". Right-click on the name of your printer and select the item from the context menu "Printer Properties"(on some models« Properties » ). On the tab "Ports" remove the marker from the field "Allow bidirectional communication". Click on the button "Apply" and close the window.

    4. This is a kind of modification of the method described above.Disable feature "Ink level control" on the computer to which the printer is connected. To do this, go to "Control Panel", select an option "Printers". Next, call the context menu on the printer icon, select the command "Printer Properties". Then go to the tab "Service", select an option "Printer Status Information", click the button "Options". Uncheck "Display a warning automatically".

    5. Also, for certain printer models, there are special utilities that allow you to reset the ink counter (for example, IPTool for Canon iP-series or MPTool for Canon MP-series). Program MPTool works with printers only when they are switched to Service or H low level mode.

    Service- a mode in which you can perform service operations using the printer buttons. To change the Canon MP-series printer to "Service" mode needed:

    1) Turn off the printer.

    2) Press and hold the Cancel/Resume button.

    3) Press and hold the printer power button.

    4) Release the Cancel/Resume button.

    5) Press the Resume/Print button twice.

    6) Release the printer power button.

    after that, the green LED will blink for a while (the blinking time depends on the printer model), then it will light up permanently and the printer will go into "Service" mode.

    low level- operating mode intended for low-level operations with EEPROM printer, in this mode the printer worksMPTool . To change the MP-series printer to low level mode needed:

    1) Disconnect the printer from the network.

    2) Press and hold the power button.

    3) Connect the printer to the network.

    4) Press the Cancel/Resume button.

    5) Release the power button. (if the system reports "new device" detected, please install the printer drivers, after the installation is completed, name the new printer as "Canon MP XXX Low-Level Mode").

    after that, the green and orange LEDs will blink and turn off, then the orange will light up permanently and the printer will go into "Low level" mode. You can exit this mode only by unplugging the printer from the network.

    6. Some printer models have cartridges without a chip. Then, to reset the data, a mechanical method is used to seal certain contacts on the cartridge with adhesive tape (or varnish). The fact is that the printer remembers how the last 4 installed cartridges were used. ID- identifier. Taping contacts allows you to make the device believe that 4 different cartridges were installed in it in turn, it will “forget” the ID of your refilled cartridge and will perceive it as new.

    Contact sealing schemes are individual for different printer models and for different cartridges, so it is hardly advisable to place all possible options here. Those who wish can easily find them through any search engine.

    P.S. To use less ink in your printer, set the Eco mode. To do this, open the properties window of your printer as described in the third step, and go to the tab "General". Click on the button "Print Setup" and in the additional window that opens, open the tab "Paper/Quality"(on some models"Home"). In a group "Print Quality"select the required value using the drop-down list or mark the field with a markerEconomy mode(on some models"Quick Print") to turn on economy mode. Apply new settings.

    P.S.S. If you are going to refill the cartridge, you need to do this as soon as the ink runs out. Otherwise, the remnants of the toner will dry up in the nozzles and it will not be possible to revive such a cartridge.

    The ink level in all inkjet cartridges is monitored by software, i.e., for example, the cartridge is designed for 220 pages and as it prints, it consumes this resource. As soon as it becomes equal to zero, the printer will begin to report information about the end of the ink in the cartridge and the need to replace it.

    Those. the printer does not know the real (actual) filling of the cartridges with ink - there is no sensor that controls the actual amount of ink in the cartridges. This may explain the most common user question after refilling: "I refilled the cartridge, but the printer shows that it is empty."

    Canon's policy is more liberal towards other printer manufacturers and allows you to disable this feature, ie. disabling this function is possible only on printers / MFPs from Canon and that is not always the case.

    If you also have such a question, and after refilling the cartridge and installing it in the printer, the device still shows that the refilled cartridge is empty and further printer operation is blocked and / or a message appears on the computer screen that the cartridge has run out (Fig. 1) and you need to its replacement, it is necessary to perform the procedure disable the ink tracking level control function on the printer.

    For cartridges PG-37/40/510/512/440/440XL, CL-38/41/511/513/441/441XL

    Rice. one. Canon ink cartridge low warning message

    Rice. 2.1. Informational message about the possibility of disabling ink level monitoring in Canon printers and MFPs on cartridges

    Wait until one cartridge runs out of ink and a warning message appears on the printer/MFP display, prompting you to continue or stop printing. In this window, click "OK", or click on the Stop/Reset button (the button looks like a red/orange triangle in a circle). Printing will resume. When one of the cartridges runs out of ink, the printer screen will reappear prompting you to replace the cartridge. If you have a multifunctional device/printer with a built-in cartridge, click on the button "Stop/Reset"(usually this is a button on which a triangle is drawn in a circle) and hold it for 30 seconds. Thus, you will disable monitoring the level of ink in the cartridge.

    Rice. 2.2. Information message about the possibility of disabling ink level monitoring in Canon printers and MFPs on ink tanks

    Turn off the ink level control of the printer with separate ink tanks, to do this, answer the questions that will appear on the computer screen. When prompted on the screen, press the button "Stop/Reset" if you have a multifunction device, or "Resume/cancel" if you have a printer, and hold it for 10 seconds. Turn off the control over the amount of ink for each ink tank separately. This will not block printing or affect print quality.

    Sometimes, instead of a simple message, the computer may issue instructions that describe in detail the steps to resolve the problem. For example, “Press and hold the printer key for at least 5 seconds "Stop/Reset" she is "Stop/Reset" means that after holding the button for 5 seconds, a shutdown will occur, which will allow you to continue printing with the cartridge already refilled. However, remember that this step must be performed for each refilled cartridge.

    Rice. 3. Button "Stop/Reset" located on the printer panel

    Disable the Ink Monitor feature on the computer it is connected to. To do this, go to "Control Panel", select an option "Printers". Next, call the context menu on the printer icon, select the command "Properties". Then go to the tab "Service", select an option "Printer Status Information", click the button "Options". Uncheck "Display a warning automatically".

    Peculiarities:

    • Disabling ink level control is the same on all Canon printers and MFPs, both based on cartridges (PG-37/40/510/512/440/440XL, CL-38/41/511/513/441/441XL) and on ink tank base (PGI-5Bk/520Bk/425Bk/525Bk, CLI-8/521/426/526);
    • This function only available in Canon printers and MFPs. This method not applicable to printers of other manufacturers (HP, Lexmark, Epson, etc.);
    • For ink-based printers, the disable control operation must be performed for each color individually;
    • Disabling ink level control is performed on the cartridge (not on the printer), i.e. when replacing the cartridge with a new ink level, it will start to be controlled automatically. You do not need to turn on the ink level.

    Now the ink level warning system will be disabled permanently. You need to check the ink level visually (i.e. open the printer cover). Printing a large number of pages without ink can damage the print head.

    To add this page to "Favorites" press

    Instruction

    Be careful: by refusing automatic control of ink levels, you will have to monitor the status of your device yourself. In certain cases, disabling this option increases the risk that the print head will burn out if you do not correct the situation in time.

    As a rule, the principle of action when disconnecting is as follows: read the messages that appear that the device is running out of ink. On the printer body, press and hold the triangle paper feed button with a flashing light for 10 seconds. The ink monitoring system will be disabled for the specific ink tank (the one you received the notification about).

    For some cartridges, there is another way: Open the "Control Panel" from the "Start" menu, in the "Printers and Other Hardware" category, select the "Printers and Faxes" icon. Right-click on the name of your printer and select "Properties" from the context menu. On the "Ports" tab, uncheck the "Allow bidirectional communication" field. Click on the "Apply" button and close the window.

    Also, for certain printer models, there are special utilities that allow you to reset the ink counter (for example, IPTool). Install and run the utility, turn on the printer, select your model. Alternately press the Reset button (reset) for black and color ink tanks, in the Ink Level group (ink level), set the value to “100”.

    To use less ink in your printer, set the Eco mode. To do this, open the properties window of your printer as described in the third step, and go to the "General" tab. Click on the "Printing Preferences" button and in the additional window that opens, open the "Paper / Quality" tab. In the "Print Quality" group, select the desired value using the drop-down list or check the EconomMode field with a marker to enable the economy mode. Apply new settings.

    Inkjet printing technology has a number of drawbacks, but while color laser printers are not yet a ubiquitous peripheral, there is no alternative to the old and faithful inkjet printers when printing photos. This means that you will have to put up with all their shortcomings: slow and noisy printing, ink drying in the nozzles, the high cost of consumables and their short resource. Or - learn how to refill cartridges, while saving a considerable amount, because the cost of cartridges is sometimes comparable to the cost of the printer itself.

    HP Printers
    In HP printers, it is more difficult to damage the printer by incorrectly using the cartridge due to its different structure. Color cartridges of such printers are similar to cartridges of Epson printers. To refill them, remove the top cap and inject three colors of ink into the three corresponding holes with a syringe. Leave open only the hole that you are working with at the moment. Cover the rest with tape. After refilling is complete, remove all tape and reattach the top cover, then reinsert the cartridge back into the printer.
    HP black cartridges are more difficult to refill. Tape or tape all the vent holes on , and then manually drill a refill hole. Insert a syringe into it and fill the cartridge, then hermetically close or seal the filling hole. Clear the vents, and then release excess pressure from the cartridge by pumping air into the top access port to allow the ink to flow out.

    Canon printers
    Canon printer cartridges are easier to refill than all models. The BC-20 type cartridge is refilled through the vent located on the side of the cartridge. Insert the syringe needle into it and fill in the ink. The hole does not need to be sealed. BC-21 type cartridges are refilled differently: first seal the ink outlets, and then, as in the case of Epson printers, remove the top cover to free the refill holes. Using a syringe, fill each hole with ink of the appropriate color.
    Attach the cover back and install the cartridge in the printer. Alternatively, you can simply soak the ink into the membrane at the bottom of the cartridge, but this method is rather sloppy: excess ink can seep out.

    Useful advice

    Before refilling, make sure that the cartridge is not physically damaged or cracked, and that the cartridge is not dried out after a long period of non-use. Fill the ink cartridge as slowly as possible to prevent air bubbles from forming.

    With the advent of laser printers, inkjet printers are gradually “retiring”. However, although laser printers can print images with minimal quality loss, inkjet printing is a cheaper option.

    Imagine the situation: you print your favorite photos from your computer to paper, and suddenly the printer runs out of ink. But before you decide that you need to buy a new cartridge, think about what if it can be refilled somehow.

    Instruction

    To do this, you must first buy refill ink, which is often sold in special 20-ml syringes. So we buy three syringes: yellow, red and blue. By the way, self-refueling will cost you twice as much as refueling in the workshop. And a cartridge filled with your hand will serve no less.

    Having bought ink, we take out our cartridge from the printer. It will help you pull it out correctly. We will lay a newspaper or even several newspapers on the table so as not to stain its surface. We put the cartridge printheads down directly on the table.

    Now you need to remove the top label from the cartridge or make holes in it in the places of the three holes for pouring ink, 1 hole for each ink reservoir.

    But that's not all. It is necessary to carry out 1-3 cleaning cycles. How to carry out these cycles, the same instruction will tell you. Now you can print whatever you want. Now let's look at the clock - we have only 10 minutes since the start of the "operation". Yes, refilling the printer at home is very convenient and fast.

    Printer owners are well aware of the situation when a cartridge suddenly runs out while printing important documents or photos. It is not always possible to run to the store, and keeping a large supply of cartridges at home is also not an option. You can refill the cartridge!

    Instruction

    All inkjet printers, or rather their cartridges, can be refilled with special ink after the ink refilled at the factory has run out. And you can refill them, and even need to, because it is many times cheaper than buying a new cartridge, and the quality does not suffer, of course, if you bought high-quality ink. However, the cost of the most expensive ones for refueling will be several times lower than the cost of the original. So the choice is obvious.
    The design features of each cartridge may differ, but the principle of operation and the mechanism for refilling them with ink will remain unchanged. Therefore, consider the basic principle of jet refueling.

    First of all, you should go to a store that sells equipment and accessories for it to buy ink for your inkjet model. Having bought the necessary ink, which is a set of three syringes (in other cases, it can be tubes of ink and syringes for refilling), you can start refilling.

    After opening the printer cover, remove the cartridge, put it on a napkin and peel off the sticker located at the top. Under the sticker, you will find three holes, the color of the insides of which will differ from each other, so you will not be able to mix up the colors. Just in case, you can make sure that the actions are correct by reading the instructions that come with the ink set. In these holes, you should very slowly pour the ink of the desired color - usually no more than 2 ml into each hole, seal the holes with a sticker, and let the cartridge stand for several minutes. After that, you need to remove the ink drops from the bottom of the cartridge, put the cartridge back in place.

    Despite the fact that laser printers are becoming more popular, inkjet printers still have an advantage over them. And it lies in the fact that printing photos on an inkjet printer is 2 times cheaper than on a laser one. Of course the replacement cartridge- the pleasure is quite expensive, so just try to refuel it.

    You will need

    • A set of ink for refilling your cartridge model, paper, napkins.

    Instruction

    Peel off the top label, pierce, or carefully drill holes in the containers.

    Gently insert the needle into the filling hole, this may cause a slight resistance.

    Wipe off the spilled ink, then tape over the holes you drilled and poke the tape with a needle over the filling holes.

    Perform 1-3 test copy cycles. That's it, the printer is now ready for use again.

    Useful advice

    Refilling the cartridge takes 10 minutes, the process is not complicated. Make it immediately after the end of the ink, because their residues in the nozzles of the device can dry out, which will completely disable the cartridge.

    Situation when you need to reset cartridges on the printer is quite common. This can be done in several ways.

    Instruction

    Cartridges for laser printers differ in design and, therefore, in the principle of refilling. For example, the HP cartridge always has a selenium photoconductor, and some cartridges are located in a separate "drum cartridge".

    There are two ways to load toner into the printer. In the first case, carry out a complete disassembly of the entire cartridge, remove the selenium photoconductor and pour the toner into the hopper.

    However, if you do not have sufficient locksmith skills or are afraid of damaging the cartridge, there is another option.

    Carefully remove the cartridge from the printer and make a hole in the toner hopper itself. The hole can be burned, cut with a sharp knife or drilled.

    Be sure to empty the shavings from the hopper along with the old toner. In order not to damage the design of the cartridge, do not penetrate too deeply into the body. After filling the holes, carefully seal with tape.

    Basically, all modern users of information technology work with peripheral devices. Scanners, faxes and printers have firmly entered our lives and now it is difficult to imagine an office or study without this technology. Almost every printer owner has experienced difficulties refilling the cartridge with color or black ink. Following simple tips, you can easily carry out this simple action on your own, without involving specialists.

    You will need

    • Sharp needle, syringe, ink, tissue paper, cleaning fluid (you can use water).

    Instruction

    Locate the refill hole on the cartridge. Its easy on the sticker located on the flat side. Below there is always a small hole designed to be filled with paint. Peel off the sticker quickly. Remember that you do not need to completely tear it off, it is enough to peel off only a certain part so that you can use a syringe with a needle.

    Draw the required amount of paint into the syringe. It is recommended to use no more than 5 ml of liquid, in order to avoid overfilling the cartridge. Insert the needle into the filling hole. Pierce the polyurethane layer that prevents the ink from escaping. Squeeze out the required amount of liquid from the syringe, then pull the needle out. Put the sticker in place.

    Be sure to check the correctness. To do this, just press it with the back side against a flat surface on which there are several napkins. If the action is successfully completed, you will see clear black ones that remain after pressing. If it was produced with colored ink for cartridges, accordingly, the trace will be colored.

    Provided that the print has appeared, feel free to use the cartridge for the next one. Don't despair if the paint mark is fuzzy or smeared - this is not an indicator that it is damaged. Most likely, you need to carry out the usual nozzle cleaning procedure, which sometimes becomes clogged with dried ink. Wipe the outside of the print head with a damp cloth or cleaning fluid. If this does not help, it is recommended to leave the cartridge with the nozzle part in a small bath of water. After cleaning, check the cartridge again for proper refilling.

    note

    Use only sharp and new needles that have been recently purchased. A blunt needle can damage the polyurethane cap of the cartridge, causing ink to leak out.

    Useful advice

    When refilling, lower the needle as low as possible, deep into the cartridge. This will distribute the ink evenly and reduce the chance of blotches or streaks when printing.

    Tip 13: How to refill the ink cartridge yourself

    If you print a lot on a printer, then you probably spend a lot of money on cartridges for them. Meanwhile, inkjet printers are still very popular now because it is not necessary to buy a new cartridge every time the ink runs out. You can simply purchase ink and refill it at home. Plus, a bottle of ink lasts a long time.

    You will need

    • - a computer;
    • - Printer;
    • - inkjet cartridge;
    • - ink for refilling cartridges;
    • - syringe from 5 ml.

    Instruction

    Please note that the steps that will be described relate specifically to refilling cartridges, and if you have a three-in-one device (printer, scanner, fax), then most likely this method of refilling cartridges will not suit you.

    First you need to purchase paint. You need to buy exactly for your model. If you need a color cartridge, then you will need several bottles of color ink, depending on the type of cartridge. For example, color cartridges of Canon IP series printers are filled with three colors (blue, yellow, red). You will also need a regular medical syringe (preferably from 5 ml) and a needle to it.

    Turn on the printer. After switching on, wait about ten seconds. Next, open the printer cover. After that, the carriage with the print head should move to the center. Now remove the desired cartridge from the print head. There should be a cap on top of the cartridge. It needs to be removed. You can detach it from the cartridge using a sharp object, such as a knife.

    Now you need to make a hole on the top of the cartridge, opposite the print head, which is located on the bottom of the cartridge. Heat an ordinary sewing needle, but not too thin, over a fire, and pierce the cartridge. If you are refilling a color cartridge, then depending on the model of the cartridge, several holes are needed.

    Place a few newspapers in this area before you start refilling the cartridge, as ink may spill inadvertently. And it's not easy to wash it off. Look in the manual for your printer model for how many milliliters of ink your cartridge has. This information can also be viewed on the official website of the printer developer.

    Draw ink into the syringe. You need to dial one, two milliliters less than what fits in the cartridge. Now, using a syringe, pour the ink into the hole you have punched. When the ink is filled, cover the holes with a small piece of tape. Now the next time you refill the cartridge, just peel off the tape.

    Modern models of laser printers have a large cartridge refill resource. But sooner or later the toner in the cartridge runs out. As a rule, this happens at the most inopportune moment and it will not be superfluous to know how to refill the cartridge yourself.

    You will need

    • - new toner;
    • - brush or brush;
    • - household gloves;
    • - Phillips screwdriver of medium size;
    • - Vacuum cleaner (optional).

    Instruction

    The first signal that a cartridge needs to be refilled is a "striped", faint print. But do not rush to immediately change the toner - pull the cartridge out of the printer and shake it hard several times. After that, insert it into place and print a test page - if the print is normal, then the cartridge will be able to work normally for a while. If this measure does not help, he definitely needs refueling.

    Place a newspaper on the table, carefully remove the cartridge from the printer and inspect its construction. The most popular cartridge model consists of two parts, which are interconnected by latches or latches.

    Open the latches / latches, separate the halves of the cartridge and very calmly, slowly, trying not to spill it on yourself, pour the spent powder out of it. Great if you have a respirator or protective mask.

    Use a brush or brush to thoroughly clean the cartridge hopper of old toner clots. To do this qualitatively, it is better to remove the photosensitive drum. The drum is not difficult to find - traditionally it will be either pink or blue.

    Also clean the old gear powder with a brush or brush and go over the cartridge with a vacuum cleaner.

    Pour new toner into the cartridge.

    Now assemble the cartridge and insert it into place in the printer.

    The second way is for those who are not afraid to make holes in technology. In the toner hopper, make a neat hole with a diameter of 8 or 10 millimeters and shake out the old toner through it and fill in the new one using a funnel. After changing the toner, the hole can be sealed with tape. A similar hole can be made with a drill, scalpel or soldering iron. Unfortunately, using this method, it is impossible to clean the drum and gears from the old toner, so you should not use this method more than 2-3 times in a row.

    note

    In HP C3903A, HP 92274A or E16 cartridges, new powder must be poured into the transverse hole and distributed along the entire length.

    Useful advice

    For each brand of printer, the toner of the corresponding brand is used - there is no universal powder for refilling cartridges of different brands.

    There are many types and models of color inkjet printers. With a low intrinsic cost of these devices, their operation is quite expensive, because the cost of consumables, in particular original ink, is very high. You can reduce your printing costs by refilling your printer cartridges with non-original and cheaper inks. You should only remember that such refilling can lead to a malfunction of the printer and you do it at your own peril and risk. Also, a good alternative to original cartridges is to install a CISS (continuous ink supply system) in the printer.

    You will need

    • kit for refilling cartridges (depending on the printer model, its contents may be different).

    Instruction

    On Canon, as a rule, 2 are installed - one for black, the second for. Determine what color ink is used in your model. Take out the black ink cartridge. Tape the nozzle at the bottom of the cartridge. Peel off the sticker on the top of the cartridge. Draw 10 milliliters of black ink into the syringe. Slowly insert the syringe needle into the hole located at the top of the cartridge by 5 mm. Slowly move the plunger of the syringe to inject the ink into the cartridge. Stick the sticker in place on the top of the cartridge. Remove the tape from the cartridge nozzle. Install the printer cartridge.

    Remove the color cartridge from the printer. Seal the nozzle at the bottom of the cartridge immediately. Peel off the sticker from the top side. Under it there will be 3 holes, each leading to its own container with a certain color. Important! Correctly determine what color ink is in each bottle. Otherwise, after improper refilling, the cartridge will become unusable. To determine the color of the ink in each bottle, insert either an easily colored solid object into the holes. It can be a sharpened match, a wooden toothpick, and the like. Draw 5 milliliters of ink into the syringe. Then insert the syringe needle into the cartridge hole 5 mm. Slowly inject ink into the cartridge. Repeat this operation with the two remaining bottles in this cartridge. Seal the top holes on the cartridge with an old sticker or tape. Peel off the tape from the cartridge nozzle. Install the cartridge in the printer carriage.

    Turn on the printer. Press and hold the Stop/Reset button. After 30 seconds, the printer's ink counter will turn off and then they can. This reset method does not work on all printer models. In this case, use special programs to reset the ink counter.

    Many users are wondering how to disable control level ink in printers and multifunctional devices, as messages about the lack of toner are sometimes not true and simply interfere with work.

    You will need

    • - Printer or multifunctional device.

    Instruction

    Disable ink level monitoring. This can be done by resetting the chips built into the cartridges. Just they are designed to determine the level of ink and prevent refilling the cartridge. But resetting the chip is quite difficult.

If you have an all-in-one/printer with a built-in cartridge, press and hold the Stop/Reset button for ten seconds. Thus, you will disable monitoring the level of ink in the cartridge.

    Turn off the ink level control of the printer with separate ink tanks, to do this, answer the questions that will appear on the computer screen. When prompted on the screen, press the Stop/Reset button if you have an all-in-one or Resume/Cancel if you have a printer and hold it for ten seconds. Turn off control over the amount of ink for each cartridge individually. This will not block printing or affect print quality.

    Turn off the " Control level ink" on the computer to which it is connected.

    Cartridges the hp c3906a and hp c4092a types are used in many HP LaserJet printers. Their design is simple, so the user can refill the cartridges himself.

    Instruction

    To refill the cartridge, it is necessary to divide it into two halves: put it on one of the ends. On the side of the cartridge is the tip of the pin, which connects the two halves. It is necessary to push it inside the cartridge. Do this with an awl or something similar. Putting the awl on the end of the pin, apply a not very strong, but sharp blow to it.

    If the pin does not give in, repeat this action several times. Repeat the same with the second pin located on the opposite end. Divide the cartridge into two halves. Take the half on which the photoconductor is installed. Using pliers, pull out the pin located on the gear side of the photoconductor. Bend the drum slightly and pull it out.

    Remove the charge roller. It is held in by two plastic bushings. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two screws securing the cleaning blade and remove it. Empty the waste toner box of its contents. Wipe the cleaning blade and charge roller with a tissue. Then assemble half of the cartridge in reverse order. The edge of the cleaning blade must be sprinkled with a special powder. Once installed, the drum unit should spin with little effort.

    Take half of the magnetic roller cartridge. At the end where there are no gears, use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the screw and separate the cover from the half of the cartridge. Remove the plastic cover covering the toner filling hole. To refill the cartridge, you will need approximately 140 grams of HP 1200 toner. Shake the container containing the toner thoroughly before filling it.

    Use a funnel to pour the toner into the half of the cartridge. Then close the stopper. Align the two halves of the cartridge and insert the mounting pins so that their edges are flush with the body.

    Almost all manufacturers of printers (and consumables for them) are trying to make cartridges unique, not refillable. That is, it is understood that each time the ink in the cartridge runs out, the user will buy a new cartridge.

    You will need

    • - the Internet;
    • - cartridge.

    Instruction

    But original consumables are very expensive, so users resort to different methods to get the cartridge and print on it again. One of the easiest ways to get a printer to accept a refilled cartridge is to have three identical cartridges available. Since the printer stores information about the last two cartridges, installing a third cartridge also causes the first cartridge to be forced out, so that it can again be installed in the printer as new.

    Use the service utilities of the printer itself, which are supplied on the disk with the drivers. The instructions for some printer models indicate the sequence of actions in which you can cause the cartridge to be reset to zero. So, in a Canon MFP, when installing a refilled cartridge, it is enough to hold the reset button for half a minute.

    Search the Internet and download the program to reset information about installed cartridges. To do this, you need to know the printer model or cartridge model. Such programs are quite common and easy to find. Reset the information about the cartridge by sealing the contacts on the chip. Which contacts to seal depends on the cartridge itself. Detailed information can be found on the Internet for your cartridge model. Read each item of the instructions carefully, as if you do it incorrectly, you can seriously damage the printer, as well as all its insides.

    If one of the cartridges is out of order, and the printer does not accept it in any way, do not throw away the cartridge. Perhaps it will still come in handy for the implementation of paragraph 1 of this instruction. If it doesn’t work out in any way, then it has completely become unusable and it’s easier to buy a new one or contact a specialized center so that specialists try to reset the cartridge data on their own.
