We will apply shadows, first we will work with the hair, more precisely, with the center of the hairstyle - the part that is combed back and sideways. We see a nice, realistic reflection of light in the middle of this area - to convey this effect, we need to create a hair texture using a shading overlay, leaving the required area unpainted.

And we will hatch the hair in two stages - first, a part from the forehead to the glint of light, and then - from the glint of light to the ends of the hair. Both parts should be hatched tightly, intensively and in the direction of the comb of the hair. One more point - the segment from the forehead to the glint of light should be hatched by pressing firmly on the pencil at the beginning of the stroke and gradually weakening the pressure on it at the end of the line, as it approaches the glint. We make the upper part according to the same principle, only in a different direction, reducing the pressure as it approaches the glint (at the roots, you need to press hard enough on the pencil). The hair on the side of the head should be shaded according to the same principle - pressing firmly on the pencil at the roots and releasing the pressure as it approaches the glint.

Now - a beard. Remember the lines we drew in the last step? So, now let's increase their number and intensity, drawing new lines in the same direction and sticking to approximately the same shape.

Finally, we will apply shadows to the face: the light falls on our hero from the right, which means that the shadow will mainly lie on the areas of the left side of the face. Cover the shaded areas at the eyebrows, to the left of the bridge of the nose and next to our left ear with light shading.
